Yes, Yes.. It's another blog about portion control. I can't help it - I just want to keep sharing that you CAN eat the food you like and lose or maintain weight if you just watch your portions. A $15 food scale and a little preparation is going to change your life!
I've been collecting these awesome food comparisons off of social media because I think they are such great eye openers to why you may not be getting the results that you think you should be. This is also a great example of how we can utilize social media to our advantage when it comes to health and fitness. I follow sites and pages that motivate me, give me ideas, teach me and get me excited. One quick side note about social media: be careful not to compare yourself to others or follow sites that get you feeling down about yourself. It is very easy to do!

Now let's look at these comparisons... I love these because they show how items that we think are "healthy" or are advertised as "healthy" are actually quite the opposite! And if you look at what you could be eating (a much larger volume of food) instead with a little time and preparation- Yum! And this second image even compares it next to a Fast Food Item. Not something I would make a habit of, but this is what I'm talking about when I say a "balanced lifestyle." ONCE in a while (like not every day!) isn't going to make or break you. Just make sure you record it in your tracking app. And hold the fries and shake, please!
